The Year 2005

The Defender got a watch for christmas.
A rev counter! I did the installation on my own. It's not too complicated, there are serveral instruction to be found on the internet.

The roof rack, spare wheel and the box were taken down from the roof again.
Less than 23mpg just because of this cargo?
Now the roof rack is only mounted when needed.

March 2005:
- Stainless steel bolts on the doors and the bonnet!
- The working lamp got a remote control!
- Paint job for the side steps.

The seperating window was modified.

The CubbyBox was "lifted" withan additional box below.

Also in April 2005:
A new lamp in the back.

May 2005:
Until now the sides were covered (with alloy) in the back of the car only.
In the passengers area the look was... well, ...bad!

Nice side effect:
The control panel for the infra-red sensor is hidden behind these cavers now!

May 2005:
Bumperettes!

August 2005:
New TÜV!

The tests done for the TÜV can not be compared to those done in the UK (MOT). So this is worth mentioning!!!
(Just ONE example: For testing the emissions they trun the engine up to 4800revs!)

Later in August:
The bonnet is covered with alloy now.
One day it will carry the spare wheel. Maybe...
 

September 2005:
The rear step is replaced!

AND: Ex-MOD-Bumpers at the rear ;-)

October 2005:
The fly screen behind the radiator grill is re-newed.
It had to be re-newed. After just 1 1/2 years the frist fly screen was completely covered with all kind of insects.
